Savera Farms are a collection of horticulture, forestry plantations and husbandry operations spread over 150 acres in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu. It was started in 2010. It is a privately managed farm with an emphasis on embracing cost savings technology and scientific cultivation practices. The farm has rich red, lateritic soil and enjoys warm weather with low humidity throughout the year. The closest major town is Madurai which is 60 km away.
As of 2013, 85 acres have been fully developed, complete with all the required infrastructure facilities. The farm contains multiple high throughput borewells to service plantation needs. Prudent irrigation is key and controlled via with multiple sub surface tanks for water storage and delivered via 60000 meters of drip laterals across 85 acres.Key farm locations are severed with electric connections for daily tasks and processes.
At Savera Farms, we take pride in providing full service quarters, and store rooms for the labour force. The premises are secured via chain-link fencing along the entire perimeter of the plantation.
Mechanization and automation has been of prime importance at Savera Farms due to dwindling labor availability. Ultra High Density (UHD) plantations require us to operate mini tractors along with automation implements like Rotavator and tractor mounted pumps. This allows for effective, safe maneuvering and operational efficiency. Multiple smaller tools like spraying systems, power weeder and brush cutters are employed for farm maintenance.
Currently, there are
• 9000 Ultra High Density Mango trees
• 800 Moringa trees
• 7300 Melia Dubia trees
